GWOT Lite truly is the Lite version of the typical GWOT experience. Years of training for counter insurgency operations, IEDs & fighting in the deserts of Iraq & Afghanistan just to get sent to Okinawa or a MEU where the only war you wage is on your liver in the streets of some southeastern Asian country. The notional warfighting, peacetime experience with hints of the GWOT that your seniors were able to experience but will forever escape you.
